5th International Congress Hidden Hunger

Scholarship program

A typical feature of the event series “Congress Hidden Hunger” is the scholarship program associated with each of the congresses. This means that needy students, researcher and experts from low-income countries have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to attend the congress. The fellows have the task of supplementing the congresses with a scientific presentation of their research projects, ideas on cooperation and the implementation of various measures in the fight against global hunger related to the congress topic. As a central concern, along with all other participants of the congress, they are invited to present and discuss the concrete objectives of such measures and the possibilities of their on-site implementation.

One scholarship covers the participation in the three congress days (incl. coffee breaks and lunch), the social dinner reception ("Come Together") in the evening of the first congress day (Monday, September 4, 2023), the program booklet and a badge as well as the travel to Stuttgart and back and accommodation for a maximum of 3-4 nights.

As part of the 5th Congress Hidden Hunger, we invite you to submit your application for a scholarship!

Who can apply for a scholarship?

1. Junior scientists / PhD students

Requirements for and content of your application:
  • Age under 40 years

  • Willingness to give a scientific oral or poster presentation

  • Submission of an interesting and excellent abstract of your scientific work or project according to the congress topics

  • Letter of motivation incl. reason why scholarship is needed

  • Reference letter from mentor

  • Tabular CV

2. Senior scientists from low-income countries

Requirements for and content of your application:
  • Willingness to give a scientific oral or poster presentation

  • Submission of an interesting and excellent abstract of your scientific work or project according to the congress topics

  • Letter of motivation incl. reason why scholarship is needed

  • Reference letter if posssible

  • Tabular CV

3. Representatives from NGOs with oral presentations or posters presenting their NGO or scientific project related to the congress topics

Requirements for and content of your application:
  • Willingness to give a scientific oral or poster presentation

  • Submission of an interesting and excellent abstract of your NGO`s work or scientific project(s) according to the congress topics

  • Letter incl. reason why scholarship is needed

  • Tabular CV

How can you apply for a scholarship?

Please submit your abstract under the tab “Registration & Abstract submission”. While being guided through the submission process, select "Yes" under "Application for a scholarship". We recommend that you prepare the above mentioned files required to the application in advance. Please send them to the email address info@hidden-hunger.de immediately after you have submitted your abstract. Please send PDF files exclusively.
